[ The beginning of a new month ]
posted @ 10:23 PM by fel
We've reached the second half of the year; welcome to July. Only 6 more months of this year left.
In all honesty, I would love to see the back end of 2004.
***
I'm supposed to commence full time employment today, but some things have ... errr ... cocked up and it turns out that I won't be starting until another 2 weeks (or so). Good news on one hand in that I can enjoy another 2 more weeks to relax, sleep in, bum around, party and what not ... but not so good news cos I was actually looking forward to getting off my lazy ass and starting to contribute to society (hah!!).
Ahhh well nevermind. 2 more weeks of bumming and doing whatever I want. A lifetime of late nights (at work! not clubs
haha), hectic schedules and deadlines lies ahead ...

[ 3 weird things ]
posted @ 03:47 AM by fel
I went out to Orchard this afternoon, two reasons:
i. I needed/wanted to get out of the house and walk about; and
ii. I had to return meet my friend to return his phone which was left with me accidentally.
After meeting my friend and passing back his "baby", I had a nice stroll down Orchard and decided to go to Paragon for a while. Ended up in a place called TeaSpa where I drank peppermint tea (so nice, very cooling) and read my book. It's a different feeling going to such a place alone, very chilled and relaxing.
When I left and was making my way to the train station, three very weird things happened:
1. I was approached by a guy who asked me to do a quick shopping survey (very common and extremely irritating). It came down to a question which asked my status as single, attached, married etc. When I answered "single", he said "Huh? Miss, 你怎么美, 真的没有男朋友?" (roughly translated: "Miss, you're so pretty, you really don't have a boyfriend?") I just politely smiled and shook my head. When it came to the end of the survey, he asked again "Really ah Miss, don't have boyfriend ah?" I quickly walked off, he cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted after me "MISS, CAN I BE YOUR BOYFRIEND?"
HAH!
2. After I did the survey, I walked to the traffic light and waited to cross the road. I didn't stand there for more than 10 seconds when I felt something suddenly splat onto my arm ... and what do you know, a bird f...king shat on me!!!! A kind lady offered me some tissues and I wiped it off, cursing whilst the people around me all giggled.
Well, they do say it's good luck if a bird shits on you right?
Maybe I'll bet on the Euro final later...... hehe
3. Anyway, I was pretty pissed off after that but I kept walking to the train station. A tall slim lady with long straight hair bumped into me and apologised, but instead of a high pitched voice that I was expected, I heard a growly, manly "sorry". Ah kua!
***
When I got home and relayed the story to my housemates, my housemate asked me "So you know what's going to happen to you the next time you go out? A bird is going to bump into you and an "ah kua" is going to shit on you!"

Become so very busy in the last few weeks ... not because I have started work or anything, but because I've been out and about doing stuff and not coming home til crazy hours in the morning.
Some friends from Perth came earlier this week so I spent the last few days showing them around Singapore, and partying with them. So nice to see familiar faces from Perth again ...
Went into JB today to pick up my sisters; they wanted to come to Singapore and had no idea how to come here, so I went in and came out within a few hours. Dropped by my grandmother's house, said hi to my grandparents. I've missed my sisters, even though we argued a lot back in Perth, it's so very very good to have them around for the next few days
But mad thing is that I have to bring them out shopping etc now ... my poor body is exhausted!
Update more soon. Just wanted to let you all know that I'm still alive and having a great time

At last, some time to blog properly. The last 2 and a half weeks have been hectic, which explains the lack of entries.
Much has happened, but keeping it brief:
A visit to Sentosa Visited Sentosa for the first time in a long time a few weeks ago. It's like a mini escape from Singapore where you can go to the beach (which isn't too shabby actually!) and just chill out. Great woodfire pizza @ Trapizza! My friend and I are going to try to make it down once a week on the weekends so we can go for a beach jog. Outdoor runs are always better than mindlessly pounding on the treadmill ...
Perth friends visit A couple of friends from Perth came down to Singapore for a few days as a part of their S.E. Asia tour
Took them out to see the various aspects of Singapore, and in particular, to eat!
A visit from my sisters The two girls came to visit for a couple of days. Brought them shopping (what else is there to do here?
) until MY wallet was empty ... and carrying dozens of shopping bags on each arm. A friend joked that it sounded like I was taking on the role of their 'boyfriend'! I feel sooo ... violated!
Grandfather's birthday in JB Relatives from Singapore, Johor, KL and Australia all travelled over to JB to celebrate my grandfather's 87th birthday. Although Singapore is so near to JB, still was quite tiring making the trek over there.
Miscellaneous partying Well, what's new?
Visited a few new bars/clubs that I haven't been to including Siam Supper Club (warning: it's a meat market on Thursday night!), Thumper @ Goodwood Park Hotel (quite nice, except for the weird live band), En Lounge (where I sprained my ankle!
boo), Cocco Latte. Can't remember the rest. And of course, the standard Velvet-ing ...
Trip to KL Went up to KL collect my new IC and spend more time with my fmaily. Oh and of course, eat shop + party. A couple of friends from Singapore came up for the weekend so I met up with them on Saturday night as well as some other KL friends. The most funny thing was when I was in Velvet (Zouk KL) and bumped into 2 Perth friends! Now what were the chances of that?
Oh btw, I haven't started working yet STILL! Waiting upon my employment pass STILL ... but it should be any day now me thinks ... until then, party

[ Thumper ]
posted @ 10:55 PM by fel
Went to the official launch of Thumper @ Goodwood Park last night. The queue was a nightmare, but my friend spotted another friend who was near the beginning of the queue, so lucky us. It was freeflow from 7pm to 10pm, and as you can imagine the place was packed out. Amazingly even after the freeflow stopped, the place was still full house. Definitely a successful party
... except there was this weird band that was tried to sing their own versions of songs like Senorita (Justin Timberlake) and others that I can't remember (tried to block it out, it was that bad) = not very cool. But otherwise, I had fun

[ Herbal chicken soup ]
posted @ 04:51 AM by fel

On Tuesday night, I decided to cook a pot of herbal chicken soup. So nice! (not only in my opinion, but the opinion of my housemate who had one big bowl) The problem with cooking a big pot of soup for ONE person is that that one person has to eat the soup everyday for every meal for a few days. Finally managed to finish the last part of it today (Thursday) and don't think I'll be cooking that for a little while!

[ 6 months ]
posted @ 11:59 PM by fel
Each month disappears so fast, time slipping by. Today is 6 month anniversary of my mom's passing away. It hasn't always been that easy throughout these 6 months, but it does get a little bit easier as each day passes.
Wow. 6 months have really gone by so quickly. The past 3 months I've been in a foreign country, away from the place I grew up, away from my family and my friends. But doing something that I've always wanted to do, and going outside of my own comfort zone.
I've always felt stifled in Perth.
But somehow today I feel like making a trip back there, just for a short while. I think I'll probably end up making a trip sometime in the next few months, to visit my family and in particular, my mom. I really miss her a lot.

A chicken and potato dish. Not sure what's the name for this dish, but it's a family recipe. Served with hot rice, and of course, chilli! I can't live without chilli, not particularly smart idea when you've got a cough/sore throat

posted @ 02:36 AM by fel

On impulse yesterday, decided to make sushi. Had a huuuuge craving for unagi (eel) so, eel it was. There is about 3 rolls of sushi on the plate, minus a few pieces I ate whilst cutting it up
Tasted delicious (but I do LOVE EEL...) and my housemates said so too
Aren't my housemates the luckiest kids?

Still no news on the EP front. So, been bumming around, lazing about at home (reading, internet-ing, chatting, tv), occasionally going out to meet friends, and even more occasionally, shopping (do you believe me?
). What's new?
Actually I'm a bit under the weather at the moment. Nasty cough that won't go away, but doesn't help with the amount of alcohol I've been consuming of late
Guess I should rest huh ...
Man, I'm so bored.
