No one really cares if you're miserable, so you might as well be happy. (Cynthia Nelms)

Utterly exhausted, so much so that I slept my entire Saturday (yesterday) away.

Been a "busy" week, not due to work but to partying! Had a friend from Sydney who was in town for business, so had to entertain him from Tues-Thurs .. also the last week in Singapore (for the next few months) for another friend .. equating to a fully packed after-work hours schedule.

Also received some bad news from a friend, which came as a shock to him as well as me. I know what he must be going through now and even though I want to offer my support, he keeps pushing me and everyone else away, wanting to be alone and deal with his sadness and pain alone. But I can totally understand that, each person grieves and deals with their pain in their own way.

Well, anyway decided it's time to take at least a few days of rest. It's going to be another lazy day at home for me, might just pop out for a bit to grab some groceries, but otherwise it's just gonna be me and my book ...

For the last few weeks, the skies have occasionally decided to turn grey and streets of Singapore are filled with umbrellas and/or people madly dashing from one place to another, attempting to dodge the rain. Ahh yes, the monsoon season has begun…

I’m told that Singapore is known to have one of the highest annual rainfalls in the world… so why is it I only know about that now that I’ve made the move here!! To be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of the rain … or cold weather, whilst we’re at it. One (minor) reason I left Perth was to be rid of the winter season, but in return, I’ve gotten rainy season … hmm. I guess you just can’t win…

But now, the real question is: how do I walk around (in my stiletto heels, no less) without getting my feet wet??

I bought a packet of 10 biscuits from the bakery (in English it's called 'crispy biscuit with molasses', forgotten the Chinese name now, it's something like 'tau sar piah'), and I'm having much difficulty trying to restrain myself from devouring them all... I've eaten two already in the last half hour or so and it's taking a lot of will power to stop me from gulping down a third. I can definitely foresee myself eating all of them by the time the working day is done......

[ Friday night madness ]

Another week passes, ending with much partying done on Friday night. Hey, what's new?

Thumper @ Goodwood Park Hotel was the first port of call. That place has really become very happening on Friday nights, and even til the time we left (around 1 plus), it was still very crowded and full of happy, smily (albeit drunk) people. The band there ain't too bad, although I do prefer the live band at Bala

We decided to move onto Zouk/Velvet. Was told a rumour that Jay Chou was partying at Velvet ... hehehe ... but didn't have the 'fate' to see him. Haha! Went to check out Members (at Zouk), and witnessed my first ah-beng brawl in Singapore ... some rowdy ego-stricken boys got a little upset, and started throwing glasses (with drink still in them!!) at each other and pointing and scolding vulgarities of the Hokkien kind. The bouncers held back one guy and dragged him out, and another of his buddies came to his defence and threw another glass. This continued a few more times; guy gets pinned down by the bouncers, then a friend comes and throws another glass. Quite dangerous actually, my friends and I all got a little wet with the alcohol being thrown around and there was a lot of broken glass on the ground as you could imagine. Pretty crazy......

As soon as the coast looked clear, we quickly cleared out of there and went back to Velvet. A bit disappointing, not terribly much eye candy ... and the one cute(ish) guy I saw, looked very suspiciously gay ...

Anyway! ... it's Saturday, time to figure the party plan for tonight...
