Off to KL for the weekend with T. Number one priority on the agenda - SHOPPING
We are strategically located in a hotel closed to the main shopping stretch of KL, and we will be wearing extremely comfortable shoes in order to maximize our speed and swiftness
heh..

[ Weekend in not-so-brief ]
posted @ 05:48 AM by fel
So, back from KL .. actually, we got back Sunday night, but I've been pre-occupied (work and laundry). Anyway, fun fun fun .. had a lovely time up there with T except for one particular brief moment which I will delve into later.
Friday afternoon, we left Singapore for our little expedition up north. The guy selling the bus tickets was a little strange; whenever we asked him a question (i.e. are there any seats left?), he would just smile a toothy smile. We weren't too sure whether we going to even get on the bus cos all our questions were answered with this wide grin and scrunched up eyes. Anyway, after the delay, we finally hopped onto the bus about 45 mins later than scheduled, but it was ok, we were finally on our way!
We soon discovered our bus driver was a bit nutty too; I think he was hooning it down the highway at around 150km/h. We zoomed past all these cars, but you know, what you don't know won't kill you
Terrible traffic jam in KL greeted us, and we only got into the hotel around 9.30pm. Speaking of the hotel, T and I do NOT recommend staying there (Radius International). Our toliet was leaking, the pillows and comforter looked rather dodgy, but anyhow, it was just a place to stay and we learnt out lesson. Dinner was at some dodgy mamak place down the road, the maggi mee goreng was not so flash. Anyhow, we opted for an early one so that we would have enough energy for shopping the next day!
Heh.. and shopping is what we did! Early start, woke up at 8.30am (I know can you believe it?!?!) and my friend K came to pick us up for brekky. More mamak food, but good stuff - Devi's at Bangsar. YUM!
Plan of action was to hit MidValley and shop-til-we-dropped.. or until our wallets were empty. Actually, that was more of T's plan since cost of everything was basically divide-by-3 (thanks to the strong AUD). Not so flash for me earning Singapore dollars: divide-by-2.
So we were at MidValley shopping our little hearts out from 10.30am until 3.30pm .. and T definitely came out of it a winner
We spent at least 2 hours plus in Zara where she walked out with 13 pieces!
K came to pick us up again (yes, he's such a gentleman! haha .. thanks K!!!!) and we headed to Sri Hartamas for makan (Tandoori chicken and naan - again, YUM!!!!). Headed back to the dodgy hotel, showered, then headed for dinner at Green Lotus Cafe (behind Lot 10). Very nice ambience, and we had a nice little private room and sat on the floor heh. Word of advice if you ever dine there; don't bother with the desserts. The rest of the meal was nice though..
Passion was the choice of party place. Met with K and J also came down to meet T and I. I liked the place, it reminded me of one big house party with the numerous lounges etc. Only shitty thing is that I saw an ex of mine who I haven't seen for 6 or 7 years. Even though we broke up so long ago and I have absolutely zilch feeling for him, seeing him unsettled me - that double-crossing two-timing asshole. I’ve been over him for a long time but YET, something still annoys and frustrates me .. so annoying cos I totally do not think of him or those unhappy after-breakup months, and now that I see him out of the blue, it has to come back and remind me of my naïve and impressionable days.. well, at least a big lesson was learnt.
Sunday was not so intense. Just a bit of shopping down at Petaling Street, and later down at Bukit Bintang area (I LOVE Eclipse down at Lot 10), and lots of tea-drinking. Not so good later when we got on the bus; I had to beg the bus-driver to stop after 1 hour because I was THAT busting. I tried to hold and tahan, but alas, I felt like my bladder was about to burst. We got back into Singapore quite late and I crashed. Quite a tiring, but fruitful weekend!
Ok, long entry I know. Anyhow, haven't uploaded pictures yet, so next entry. Going to leave work now (finally) so adios!

[ I'm ready, promotion ]
posted @ 01:45 AM by fel
Forgot to mention, promotion list came out on 1 July 2005 and my name was on it
Yay for promotion, but bigger yay for the (decent) pay increase! Now, I shall patiently wait for the bonus to be announced...

Flat out, been really busy with work at late and every spare moment is spent recuperating, by either sleeping and vegetating, or having a few drinks. Heh. Last couple of weeks have been particularly crazy, can't even remember each day passing.. and then all of a sudden, it's Friday again.
Anyway, last week we went out to celebrate my colleague's last day at work. He (finally) quit and is moving on to greener pastures. In order to really celebrate this move, I vowed to make him drink until he puked.. and I succeeded, although it somehow sounded better than when it actually happened :| See below for picture BEFORE the puking began.......

[ Em ]

How fragile life is. The news shocked me, the words "Em passed away" echoed in my head, my mind not fully registering the meaning of those words. It truly is tragic; a beautiful, sweet and intelligent girl of 23 passed away from cancer. And I had no idea she was even sick, let alone dying. It has been a while since I had spoken to Emily; after leaving uni, it's just too easy to lose touch with friends you used to regularly see.. sadly, such a regret.
I can't begin to imagine how her parents must be feeling, and what they must be going through. Losing a parent is hard, but losing a child who has just begun their young adult life.. it pains me to even think of the immense sadness that they must be going through.
I will always remember her as the girl with perfectly rebonded hair that all the girls envied, the girl who always had a huge smile on her face, the girl who loved jazz and always up for a drink (or two .. or maybe more). A friendly and sweet girl who will always be missed by those who were lucky enough to be called her friend.

A lot of unexpected and shocking news has come to me today (and yesterday). My best friend from primary school is moving from Sydney to HK .. and doesn't know when she's going back. Another friend is moving from KL to Qatar (exotic huh!!) for the next 2-3 years. A girlfriend announced her seperation. A few (Australian) girlfriends making a last-min trip to Singapore for the weekend. An odd SMS (I cannot divulge any further info
) late last night.
