[ Oops, busy, stressed etc ]

Oh I've been so busy, wanted to put up Hanoi pictures on the weekend but I was busy being a domestic goddess (hah!) - cleaning and cooking (I baked bread, cooked curry, made sushi) on Saturday. Sunday was spent working and a friend's wedding at the Conrad in the evening. And this week has been MADLY CRAZY at work... argh... when is it ever going to end.......
Ok, trying to think peaceful thoughts, I'll leave you with this picture of Halong Bay for now...

[ Face shape shift ]

I just realized I used to have a diamond-shaped face, but now after two years of being in Singapore and putting on weight, its become more oval-shaped. Baaaah!! Damn the oily, fattening but oh-so-tasty food in Singapore, damn the long hours at work and lack of time to exercise, damn the lack of motivation... damn the oval chubby cheeks!! Grrr...

Electricity keeps cutting in .. and out .. a constant problem that has been bugging us for the last few months. And it always only seems to be our block that is affected! Arghhh........ lucky I didn't throw my laundry into the washing machine!

[ Intensity ]

I realized that work has been "peak" season for over a year now; each time I hear that we're going to be slowing down, it only seems to get worse, well busier that is. And frankly, I'm starting to tire out and I seriously need a break, or at least, someone to put on the brakes...
But, the real peak season is approaching close (July to Sept) and once again, end of financial year, so the pressure is only to get more and more intense...
Oh and if you're wondering, yes, I am in the office now... at least, this time next week, I'll (or at least should!) be relaxing on a beach somewhere...

[ Bali, I like ]
posted @ 06:40 AM by fel

I've just spent 6 days, 5 nights in Bali .. and wishing I could have had another 6 days, 5 nights there to be well and truly rested, if you know what I mean! :p
But yes, fantastic decent break away from Singapore, although a few dramas here and there to spice things up (yes we are talking swear words being hurled across, tears, marriage proposals and all that jazzy stuff!). Main reason for the trip down was to attend my friends' (P and K) wedding, held at the Le Meridien hotel at Tanah Lot. A little out of the way from the main Legian/Seminyak area (half hour drive) but a beautiful location nonetheless. The ceremony was held at the cliff, overlooking the beach and Tanah Lot temple, at sunset. Weather was looking a little dubious as the grey clouds sank, but thank goodness for the rain-stopper (which you only have to pay upon results
). Bride as always was a stunner, as she gracefully walked down the red carpet, I could feel some tears forming (I'm a sucker for weddings!). Dinner at the Sunset Lounge, and then they threw an awesome poolside party, where we all boogied away til the early hours.. now that was a wedding party!
Other happenings included Ku De Ta (I'm telling you, the best sunset lounge in the world people!), La Lucciola (supposedly, one of Bali's most acclaimed Italian restaurants), Warisan, Papparazzi, Double 6, Lania, and various other restaurants and bars, shopping, much tanning by the poolside and beach, a day trip to the spa, as well as a few romantic starlight walks by the beach
Back to the drill and reality again tomorrow... argh!
