I was lucky enough to go back home for Chinese New Year, to spend a couple of days with my family and friends before heading out to the States. Too short a trip (as always!), but glad to have been home

The Vines, Swan Valley

Out in the bush.. somewhere in the hills of Swan Valley

Kanga! on the side of the road

Scarborough Beach, full of kite-surfers

The sun, the surf, the sand

My favourite beach - Cottesloe

Matilda Bay

Perth City, as viewed from King's Park

If it weren't for a certain wedding that I HAVE to attend in December (*ahem*), I don't know when the next time I would go back. As much as I do miss my family, my friends at home, my feet are just too itchy for travel ... digressing a little, but Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Peru, Canada, England, and France are on the cards this year and not to mention the rest of this vast country! Am I just a little too ambitious? heh......

A beautiful Sunday...!

Spent the day (Sunday) out and about in the city, meeting up and hanging out with some friends and checking out the various areas. Drove up (brave, if I must say so myself!) and around the crazy city, managed to not get lost and to my destination right on time. Fantastic weather - this is why I came here!! - especially to zip up the freeway with the top of my convertible down

Backtracking a little, Saturday was another lovely sunshine-filled day. A friend of friends back in Perth took me out for the day, and he was so lovely enough to bring me to Ranch 99 (a HUGE Asian grocery store) where I was finally able to procure soya sauce!

Well in other news, I am still looking for an apartment, and another full day of viewings scheduled tomorrow. I REALLY need to find a place!!!!

Spent the entire Wednesday searching for apartments, being driven around by my relocation agents (yes, there are two!) looking for potential rentals. No, didn't find anything that stood out of the 10 odd apartments I looked at, and only 2 very very maybe's...... Some very horrid places out there too, and I saw awful green shag carpet, too much linoleum, and a hot pink oven. HMM, may be my budget's tight, may be this is the standard of the apartments around, but whatever it is, I need to find something decent AND SOON; corporate housing is only until next weekend. I'm actually considering moving quite far away into the more exciting area of town, but the commute time (an hour or more) is making me think twice, and not to mention the higher rental/smaller space factor. But I am only young once......

Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Wish me luck!

First day at work; new office, new colleagues, new start? ... well, not exactly - old clients have come back to haunt me. And to think I thought I could get away by leaving Singapore...

Well well well, can you believe it - I've arrived in the United States of America, safe and sound and in one piece! Made it in around midday today; currently being shacked up in a decent little serviced apartment very close to the office for the next couple of weeks whilst I search for more permanent accomodation. Have done an orientation of the surrounding areas as well as driven around the hotel area to explore (and procure a travel adaptor and groceries). Ooh ooh, my rental car (for a month) is a rather hot red Mustang convertible .. whooooo

Concentrating on settling in and as fast as possible, but right now am extremely exhausted - no sleep on Fri because of packing, darling Miss K stayed up with me all night to help pack, isn't she an angel!! and twas almost impossible to sleep on the flight over, being squashed in the middle of two people although I did get to sit on the new - and quite roomy - 777 - so I am going to attempt to sleep now for at least 12 hours.

And so my last weekend in Singapore begins! .. with a bit of a hangover, and a growling stomach. Warm-up last night - Cafe del Mar, Boiler Room @ St James Power Station, Velvet then Living Room, before I drunkenly walked home at 5 something - but the "main event" is tonight. Oh yes, tonight is the night of the official farewell do, the night where all my "friends" are going to try to get me completely inebriated. Ahh, something to look forward to.

In the meantime, much packing needs to be done, cleaning (dread), shopping (new phone, new camera!), and its time to get a haircut!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Bali, whoo!

Pampered like a princess - a luxury villa peaked on a hill overlooking the Indian ocean, picnic lunch by a private beach, sunset by the ocean pool, floating brunch in a private villa pool complete with a bottle of champagne, deluxe spa treatments at the multi-award winning spa... just to name a few of the items on the agenda to the perfect weekend!

Another weekend escape, this time back to my "favourite" city - Jakarta. I have a strong feeling it will be my last for a while, unless I am naughty and fly there again in a fortnight but I am planning to spend my last month (February) in Singapore with the first two weeks in Singapore, and third back home, before flying off to the States in the fourth! Time will fly, I still can't believe I'm leaving...

Anyhow, it was one of the nicest weekends I've had. Not that it was planned that way, spending much time with friends - dinner, clubbing (Public, Embassy - worth checking out!) - but also a lot exploring and walking - wandering aimlessly about Chinatown and Sunda Kelapa, getting lost but seeing so much.

Next on the agenda; KL weekend with the girls!
